Why I built this
Too much of what passes for business wisdom is recycled advice dressed up as certainty. Another top ten list. Another framework that sounds sharp until you try to run it. I wanted the other side of that conversation. The experiments. The contrarian ideas. The hard lessons nobody puts on a slide. The unconventional strategies that actually move a person or a business forward.
The ALT is my answer to the default setting. Less dogma. More thinking. Less performance. More substance.
The problem I kept seeing
Most advice tells you to pick a lane. Narrow yourself down until you fit somewhere clean, sound “focused,” fit the resume format everyone expects. That advice was never built for someone carrying five skill sets and one vision.
You didn’t lose focus. You outgrew the box built for one-lane people.
So instead of another tutorial, I build frameworks. I look at a system, a phenomenon, an operator who’s already won, and I hand back the blueprint underneath it. Not theory. Not a hack. A framework you can actually run, plus the playbook that shows you how to run it.
Where this comes from
I’ve spent my career translating systems built for one context into tools that work in another. Fortune-level compliance and risk frameworks, the kind built to protect billion-dollar institutions, broken down into playbooks a single operator can run without a team of lawyers behind them. Take something complex, hand back something usable. That instinct is the whole method behind The ALT.
I’m Collins Ero. Founder of TIME AFRICA Network, creator of the AfroNouveau movement, and before any of that, a compliance analyst who spent years inside the machinery of institutions most people only ever see from the outside. Harvard Business School, MIT, Cornell, ForbesBLK, Recording Academy voting member. None of that is the point. It’s the raw material the frameworks were built from.
